The School of Engineering of the Universitat de València (ETSE-UV) develops, as the previous eight years, a joint of workshops where around 1500 students, both from A levels and training cycles, will carry out practices in the laboratories according to their educational level, having also the opportunity to know the degrees and facilities of this School located in the Burjassot Campus of the Universitat de València.

This activity is the result of the coordinated work of the ETSE-UV with the secondary school teaching body, aiming to join efforts to improve the teaching quality in the fields of informatics and technology and to motivate students towards the experimental work and engineering.

In the workshops, which will take place from 16 to 25 January and for which the demand has triple the available places (and this is why the planned days and places have been increased as far as it has been possible), the students will participate in workshops related to informatics and multimedia, industrial and telecommunication electronics, chemical technology and industrial processes. In the field of informatics and multimedia they will carry out workshops on web portal management, videogame development, augmented reality and introduction to mobile devices programming with app inventor. In the industrial and telecommunication electronics, the students will be able to practice robotics with Lego Mindstorms, real-time audio digital audio effects generation, instrumentation and measuring with different sensors, telephony and voice over IP, and also get to know the fundamentals of renewable energies. Regarding chemical technology and industrial processes workshops, the students will produce a shower gel or work on the industry separation procedures obtaining essential oils.
