What do we offer?

In the Applied Psychophysics Research Group, we offer a wide range of specialized services aimed at better understanding the patient's visual function, as well as characterizing electronic devices for various applications. Our group offers:

  • Comprehensive studies on the patient's visual function, ranging from contrast sensitivity (CSF) under various conditions to chromatic vision analysis. These studies are essential for selection processes in fields such as policing, firefighting, as well as for patients with various pathologies that may affect visual function. These include systemic pathologies (diabetes, high blood pressure, etc.), ocular pathologies (AMD, cataracts, etc.), neurodegenerative diseases (Parkinson's, Alzheimer's, etc.), and neurodevelopmental disorders (ADHD, ASD, etc.). It is vital to understand these more complex aspects of vision, which go beyond refractive and prescription of glasses or contact lenses.
  • Characterization of electronic devices, such as cameras, monitors, and computers. Our exhaustive analyses cover the luminous and colorimetric performance of these devices, ensuring their accuracy and reliability in different contexts.

With our highly skilled team and our specialized facilities in the Department of Optics and Optometry and Vision Sciences, we ensure the conduct of high-quality research and the provision of services that contribute to the advancement of knowledge in the field of applied psychophysics and its clinical and technological applications.
