Pilar Sanz Cervera is conducting a research stay from September 9 to December 10, 2024, at the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education at the University of Oviedo.

This research stay is part of the project titled: 'Special Education Centers within the LOMLOE Paradigm: Their Transformation into Support Centers for Mainstream Schools and Proposals for the Education of Students Requiring Specialized Attention (CEELOMLOE).' This project was awarded in the 2023 call for 'Knowledge Generation Projects' by the Ministry of Science, Innovation, and Universities.

As part of the general objectives of the project, this research stay, which is being developed during the initial months of the project’s implementation, is focused on evaluating the current advisory practices of Special Education Centers (CEE) in the Principality of Asturias. The purpose is to design, implement, and evaluate an advisory proposal that addresses current needs and prepares for future scenarios following the regulatory development of LOMLOE. To achieve this, various Special Education Centers in the Principality of Asturias will be visited, and several semi-structured interviews will be conducted to gather the perceptions and attitudes of both the professionals working in the centers and the families of the children attending them regarding the inclusion processes being implemented as a result of the publication of LOMLOE.

This objective is planned to be implemented in the four autonomous communities covered by the project: Principality of Asturias, Catalonia, Balearic Islands, and Valencian Community.

The Principality of Asturias is the first community where this objective is being carried out, thanks to the CIBEST grant for research stays of postdoctoral researchers in research centers outside the Valencian Community, awarded to researcher Pilar Sanz Cervera, who is working at the University of Oviedo alongside Dr. Alejandro Rodríguez Martín, Director of the Department of Education Sciences, and Drs. Noemí Rodríguez Fernández and Juan Antonio Posada Corrales, members of the CEELOMLOE research project.
