The Scientific Culture for Climate Emergency Chair (CCC Chair) hosted last Monday 30 October a group of 90 individuals from Nau Gran Ontinyent.
La Nau Gran is an initiative of the University Culture Service that aim to promote and carry out knowledge, scientific and cultural dissemination and outreach activities, and it is compromised with the education of every citizen regardless of their age.
As part of the modules on Sustainability and Climate Change in which they are enrolled there was a working session at the Botanical Gardens on the preservation of biodiversity and the climate emergency.
The chair was created thanks to an agreement of collaboration between the Universitat de València and the Department of Agriculture, Rural Development, Climate Emergency and Ecological Transition in 2022: the Chair for Scientific Culture for Climate Emergency Chair (CCC Chair).
The goal is to contribute to the adquisition of the competencies and capacities needed to build fairer and more sustainable societies, in line with the Sustainable Development Goals and the 2030 Agenda. The Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València led this initiative, pointing out the value of their resources and knowledge.
The urgency and severity of the major challenges we face require that they are attended by the education system from all possible approaches, levels, subjects, target groups, tools and resources.
