From 23-27 October, the 4th edition of Mediterranean Plan Conservation Week was celebrated at the Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València (4th MPCW).
The event brought together specialists and individuals interested in nature research and management, particularly in the areas of wild plant conservation and habitats throughout the Mediterranean.
For this edition, the 4th MPCW aimed to broaden its initial objective - centred on species conservation and the relationship between people and wild or cultivated plants- towards complementary habitat restoration, as a contribution to the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
The Chair for Scientific Culture for Climate Emergency Chair (Chair CCC) has participated with the communication “How can Mediterranean plants help understanding Climate Change? A teaching proposal for the Botanical Garden of the University of Valencia” in which they propose the use of general green spaces and the Botanical Gardens in particular as didactic tools for educational activities outside the classroom in a context of climate emergency.
