We are motivated by the interest in renewing the possibilities that research and teaching of cinema and audiovisuals bring to educational environments

CREARI, the Research Group on Cultural Pedagogies (GIUV2013-103) of the University of Valencia, together with the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations, promote these Seminars that consolidate the work carried out by the university in recent years. We are motivated by the interest in renewing the possibilities that research and teaching of cinema and audiovisuals bring to educational environments, raising the possibility of generating suitable spaces to spread knowledge of cinema and creative audiovisual practice in training environments, especially in the educational field.

We want to generate a space for reflection without losing sight of the spirit of Collaboration and the physical involvement of the attendees. The participation of relevant university researchers from different countries, institutional managers, teachers, and those people who, both from an educational perspective and from the university and the business world, are interested in analyzing the current situation of research and education in cinema and audiovisuals is planned.

This is an innovative proposal, since it had not been previously addressed from the perspective of university research. In this case we combine cinema, art and audiovisuals, with a strong educational load that particularizes the proposal. What we want is to integrate the concepts of research and education in the field of arts, cinema and visual culture, in order to review what has been done so far in this matter, and above all to manage proposals for the future. The success of previous calls organized by CREARI, the Institute of Creativity and Educational Innovations, together with the Department of Didactics of Musical, Plastic and Corporal Expression endorse this new academic meeting.
