The purpose of the Chair is to promote training, cultural, research and university extension activities aimed at knowledge and dissemination of sustainable management and recovery of wastewater resources. One of the Chair's most important challenges lies in ensuring that, both in the industrial sector and in society in general, wastewater is not conceived as a mere waste but as a source of resources (water, energy, fertilizers) of enormous economic and environmental value.
