It is an event of free registration in www.economiadelagua.com that is addressed to professionals, researchers and general public interested in this field. On it, specialists and people in charge of public entities and leading companies in the sector of water will analyse the need and the challenge of modernising and improving the urban water cycle in all its stages, from catchment to purifying and reusing, through a digitalisation of hydric infrastructures.

In the event will participate as speakers the autonomic secretary of Economic Model and Funding of the GVA, María José Mira, who will open the act, the coordinator of Recovery, Transformation and Resilience of the Ministry for the Ecologic Transition, Adolfo Torres, who will talk about the opportunities that the water sector offers when it comes to digitalisation and, the vice-principal of Innovation and Transfer of the Universitat de València, Rosa Donat, who will close the event.

As far as the director of the Transformation of the Economic Model Chair of the GVA-UV and who has organised the event, Francesc Hernández, is concerned, the water cycle in Spain needs a complete modernisation so as to move forward to a more efficient and sustainable management. “It is necessary to have full information not only on the water use, but also on the wastes produced in distribution networks in order to reduce energetic consumptions, increase the efficiency of facilities and prolong its life span, guaranteeing the sustainability of the system itself”, explained Hernández.
