On April 10, 2025 at 4:30 p.m., the Assembly Hall of the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Valencia will host the lecture “Intersexualities: Dialogues in Social Research and Intervention”, given by Nuria Gregori i Flor.
This talk aims to critically reflect on biomedical and social narratives surrounding intersex bodies, highlighting the sensationalism, silence, and exoticism that often frame their representation. The session will create a dialogue between professional intervention practices and critical research approaches that challenge these narratives.
Presented by Elisabet Marco Arocas, professor at the Department of Sociology and Social Anthropology at the University of Valencia.
The event is organized by the research group COSiDES — Social Corporalities, Subjectivities, and Dissidences, with the collaboration of Diversitats and the Vice-Rectorate for Equality, Diversity and Inclusive Policies at the University of Valencia.
