On Thursday 24 October, researcher Paula Alepuz was a speaker for baRNA Club, a science event in Barcelona gathering molecular biology and genetics experts to discuss the most recent advances on RNA and its regulation.
Alepuz is known for her contributions on the genetic translation arean and its relation with cell stress. She made her presentation in the CRG Charles Darwin Room named "Translational and pre-translational functionsof eIF5A" She delved into el protein eIF5A vital role on protein synthesis regulation, specially regarding cell stress conditions and its relation to key biological processes in healthcare and illnesses.
baRNA Club, by Genome Regulation Centre (CRG) in collaboration with other institutions has been recognised as the reference space for knowledge exchange, transfer and discussion of molecular biology. The event welcomed renowned researchers along with Paula Alepuz: Jeffrey Chao from Friederich Miescher Institute for Biomedical Research (Basel, Switzerland) and Asier González Seviner, from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (Barcelona, Spain).
