Romeo and Juliet

2006 ROMEO AND JULIET, by W. Shakespeare, adaptation of Rodolf Sirera and Josep Lluís Sirera (dramatised reading). Directed by Pep Sachis, produced by the Biblioteca Valenciana.

Organised by the Biblioteca Valenciana, this classic, with such special staging, captured the interests of secondary education students to which it was addressed.

Assaig (Theatre Group of the Universitat de València), with the support of the Vice-Rectorat of Culture of the Universitat de València, iniciated a project to encourage reading, produced and organised by the Biblioteca Valencia of the Valencian Government.

The project, with dramatised readings, aims to encourage reading, introducing the general public in the world of literature and theatre in a more fun, intense and participative way. They also aim to foster Valencian.

Assaig (Theatre Group of the Universitat de València) holds this project very close to their heart because one of their intentions is also to encourage reading and theatre amongst young people.

The proposed dramatised reading is "Romeo and Juliet", by W. Shakespeare, a 45min adaptation by Rodolf Sirera and Josep Lluís Sirera and directed by Pep Sanchis. Aimed at secondary education students and general adult public.
