Exhibition 'Dr. Uriel. A thousand days of work', by Sento Llobell. From 29th May to 7th July.
In this exhibition we want to tell two stories:
... the story of a book, which begins being written, by hand, in July of 1936 and which, 80 years later, after changing into different formats, ends up becoming a comic.
... and the story of Pablo Uriel, the protagonist, a young doctor who on a good morning leaves his house, in Zaragoza, to attend his patients and finds himself stuck, during 1000 days, in the Hell of Civil War.
Pablo wanted to tell his children what had happened to him during all those year, which is why he began writing. However, he probably did not imagine that his manuscript would become a book, and eventually a graphic novel which would receive numerous awards and would be read by many people.
The minuscule episodes, like his, are not normally included in the big history books and end up being forgotten and disappearing... But the words of Pablo and the drawings of Sento, together, are making this "small big story" hard to forget.
