The Music rooms and the Performing Arts UV retake the autumn programme after the DANA

The Music rooms and the Performing Arts from the Universitat de València, through the Office of the Vice-Principal for Culture and Society with the direction of the General Foundation UV, retake this week their autumn programme that was paralyzed because of the DANA last 29 October. The cultural activity restarts, as well, with a solidary role dedicated to the affected people through their campaign #UVhelps.

The devastating consequences of the tragedy for the Valencian society affected the same way to the university cultural activity that stopped as an institutional mourning declared by the UV during five days so later they could contribute with the campaign #UVhelp and easy the recuperation tasks in the affected areas.

Now, little by little, the Universitat de València starts to reactivate the cultural agenda which, in the case of the Music Club UV, had programmed 16 concerts from October to December, starts a tight program to the exceptional situation that artists and the public are currently living and at this moment, those concerts are:

  • Sunday, 24 November, Quintet Twenty Strings. Sapiència Chapel, La Nau Cultural Centre (12pm). Free entry, limited capacity.
  • Wednesday, 27 November, Victoria Musicae. Sapiència Chapel, La Nau Cultural Centre (7pm). Free entry with a previous reservation of 72 hours before in https://events.fundacio.es/o/40 
  • Tuesday, 10 December, La Regalada. Joan Plaça Auditorium of the Botanical Garden UV (7pm). Dedicated to the 550th Anniversary of the publication of ‘Trobes en lahors de la Verge Maria (Valencia, 1474)’. Includes a brief introduction by the doctor Onofre Serer. Free entry, limited capacity.
  • Wednesday, 11 December, Valencian music for flute and piano. Sapiència Chapel, La Nau Cultural Centre (7pm). Free entry with a previous reservation of 72 hours before in https://events.fundacio.es/o/40
  • Friday, 20 December, Christmas Concert by the Philharmonic Orchestra from the Universitat de València. Charles Darwin Hall from Burjassot-Paterna Campus (1pm). In collaboration with the #desembreeuropeu2024. Free entry, limited capacity.

Theatrical performance at La Nau
Additionally, the theatrical programme at the La Nau Cultural Centre by the Universitat de València begins again on Wednesday, 20 November, and will keep the agenda the following way:

  • 20 and 21 November, Separata, by PuraVida Theatre (7pm)
  • 27 and 28 November, Pendientes, by La Piadosa Creaciones (7pm)
  • 29 November, Titelleries, Titelles Festival from the País Valencià (6:30pm)
  • 4 and 5 December, Eternas, by Mujeres en Construcción (7pm)
  • 11 and 12 December, Vesania, by Contrahecho Producciones (7pm)
  • 18 and 19 December, Marina, by Rocambolesc Theatre (7pm)

On Wednesdays there will be a discussion with the members of the companies after the play ends. The tickets can be reserved in https://events.fundacio.es/o/5

Campaign #UVhelp
All these programmed cultural activities by the University Culture Service during the course 2024/2025 will have a solidary role dedicated to the affected people by the DANA; the collection obtained from the tickets selling and the donations will go to the campaign #UVhelps from the Universitat de València.

  • Bank Transfer to ES81 3159 0078 5530 4844 7522 (Caixa Popular), with the concept “UVhelps” followed by the NIF/CIF of the donating person
  • Bizum to the number 10582

In the case of musical activities, funds will be dedicated to the initiative ‘Solidary Music’. We talk about a Social Fund for Music that will help the students and entities from the Valencian social group that have suffered material lost, with actions like the restoration of instruments and damaged archives, helps for the continuation with musical activities and the preservation of the Valencian musical patrimony in the affected areas.
