Reflections from the 2nd “School, time and child-raising” Seminar
On Thursday, November 6, we held the 2nd Research Seminar of the “School, time and child-rearing” project, organized by IPRODES (University of Valencia). The main speaker was Professor Maria Medina Vicent (Jaume I University), who examined the social implications of the neoliberal ideal of motherhood and the inequalities that shape maternal experience. Following her presentation, the seminar addressed topics such as intensive motherhood and schooling, the effects of school schedules on performance, and the impact of COVID-19 on women caregivers.
It was a day of collective reflection on how time, care and inequalities intersect within the educational and social system, reaffirming the project’s commitment to making these interconnections visible.
The project is funded by the Instituto de las Mujeres, and the seminar was supported by the Faculty of Social Sciences.
