El Dr. Fabien Medvecky és professor titular de comunicació de la ciència en la Universitat d´Otago en el centre per a la Comunicació de la Ciència. Treballa sobre la interacció entre la ciència i la societat, centrant-se en el paper dels valors, especialment l'ètica i l'economia, en les decisions socials entorn de la ciència. Abans d'unir-se a Otago, Fabien Medvecky va estar en el Programa de Comunicació Científica de la Universitat de Queensland, Austràlia. Publica sobre comunicació científica i política científica, ètica i economia. Fabien és un membre actiu de la comunitat de la comunicació de la ciència a Nova Zelanda (Science Communicators Associations of New Zealand) i a nivell internacional, i va ser president de l'Associació de Comunicadors de la Ciència de Nova Zelanda de 2015 a 2018.
