The Law, Rights and the Elderly Research Group is participating in the EDI project.

This project, promoted by the Spanish Ministry of Social Rights, Consumer Affairs and 2030 Agenda, is dedicated to the investigation of deinstitutionalisation processes and the transition towards personalised and community-based support models in Spain, spanning the period from December 2022 to December 2023.

The objective of this initiative is to promote a dignified and full life in the community for all people, with a particular emphasis on the most vulnerable population groups, such as the elderly. The objective of this collaboration is to develop and test 20 pilot projects that offer innovative alternatives to institutionalisation. These projects aim to ensure that older people can live in family and community settings, rather than in institutions.

The involvement of the Law, Rights and the Elderly Research Group represents a significant step towards creating a more inclusive society that respects the rights and needs of older people in Spain.
