English, French... E ora in italiano! The Master’s Degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation has kept a nice surprise for its future students of the 2016-2017 academic year, as well as for the following years. The Universitat de València and the Università di Palermo (Italy) have signed a collaboration agreement to offer, from the next academic year, the “Master’s Degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation” and “Laurea Magistrale in Lingue Moderne e Traduzioni per le Relazione Internazionali” double degree.

Students enrolled in the Master’s Degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation that have previously passed at least 60 ECTS credits of the Undergraduate/Bachelor Degrees in Translation and Interlinguistic Mediation, English Studies or Modern Languages and Literature (in particular, those subjects pertaining to the last year of their respective degree) can opt to continue their studies with the second course of the already mentioned Laurea Magistrale. In accordance with the regulations of the Universitat de València regarding double degree agreements, students have to take between 39 and 42 CFU (40 and 44 ECTS) in Palermo, equivalent to subjects of the Universitat de València (depending on whether they have chosen the English or French curriculum).

Meanwhile, students of the Università di Palermo can continue their studies at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication, enrolling in 36 ECTS of the Universitat de València (equal to 30 ECTS in subjects of Palermo and 6 ECTS corresponding to the Master Degree’s Final Project at the UV).

The maximum number of students that can be accepted in this international programme will be six for each university and for each academic year. This number can be modified in the coming years, prior agreement between both institutions.

Soon we will open up on the website of the Master’s Degree in Creative and Humanistic Translation a section where all the requirements, conditions and procedures to be able to choose this double degree will be explained. The correlation tables (for students of both institutions) will also be communicated, although in any case a specific curriculum for each student participating in the programme will be drafted and passed.

The Università di Palermo is a bicentennial institution (although its origins date back to the 15th century) that hosts over 50,000 students every year, distributed in 12 faculties. This is the web of its Laurea in Lingue Moderne e Traduzioni per le Relazione Internazionali.
