ANNA M. BRÍGIDO-CORACHÁN completed her doctoral studies in Comparative Literature at New York University and was also granted a PhD in English Rhetoric and Linguistics at the University of Valencia in 2008. She is currently Associate Professor /Senior Lecturer at the Department of English and German Philology and teaches several modules on North American literature and contemporary film at the Degree of English Studies and at the Master of Advanced English Studies of the UVEG. Prof. Brígido-Corachán has participated in several research projects financed by the Ministry of Education and the Generalitat Valenciana (on Culture, Development, Social Movements, and their influence and representation in literary discourse). Since 2019 she coordinates the research group LENA: North American Ethnic Minority Literatures in a Global Context (LENA - GIUV2019-457) which includes the research projects financed by the Generalitat Valenciana: "North American (trans)Ethnic Literatures in a Global Context: Representations, Transformations, and Resistances" (GV/2019/114) and "Reconfigurations of gender, race, and class in ethnic minority literatures of the Obama/Trum Eras" (GV/AICO/2021/249). She also coordinates the Teaching Innovation group NAPCED (financed by the Universitat de València), which examines the implementation of key concepts from Critical Pedagogy and Education for Development in anglophone literature modules engaging performative and digital environments. She is also Mobility Erasmus + Coordinator at the Degree of English Studies since 2023. Her academic interests include contemporary U.S. literature, minority literatures and cultures in the Anglophone world, audiovisual languages, critical decolonial pedagogies, and educational ICTs, with a special research focus on contemporary Indigenous literature and history of the Americas, Indigenous traditional knowledge systems, ecocriticism, and the intersections between literature and film. She is a member of the international research network Small/Minor Literatures and the international associations European Association of American Studies, American Indian Workshop, Western Literature Association, The Society for Multiethnic Studies: Europe and the Americas (MESEA), SAAS and AEDEAN. She is a permanent PhD at the University of Valencia and her research career has always been linked to the field of translation and specialised terminology within the French-Spanish language pair. Marcos Centeno is a Japanese Studies and Visual Culture scholar, particularly interested in documentary film and its theoretical debate developed in Japan, image studies, transculturality, memory and the representation of minorities, particularly the Ainu people, for which he uses contributions from visual anthropology and ethnographic studies. At the University of Valencia, he contributed to creating its Certificate in Japanese Studies. Centeno is also honorary research fellow at Birkbeck, University of London, where he was the Japanese Studies Programme director, and established a single honours BA Japanese Studies with a great emphasis on diversity and minorities, which became one of the most popular of this kind in the UK in terms of student numbers. He is also Research Associate at the JRC (Japan Research Centre) at SOAS (School of Oriental and African Studies), University of London, where had been lecturer for the Department of Japan and Korea and coordinated the MA Global Cinemas and the Transcultural. Centeno has led projects funded by British, Japanese, North American and Spanish institutions. He currently coordinates TRADIASIA (Transculturality and Diversity in East Asia) funded by Eurasia Foundation. His project Tsuchimoto Noriaki's documentary school: from his training in Iwanami Productions to his early political activism (1962-69) has recently received a grant by the Council on East Asian Studies at Yale University and Representations of the Ainu people in the UK has been funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science. For several years he has coordinated Japanese Documentary Filmmaker Haneda Sumiko project. Authorship and Gender Discourses with colleagues from the UK and funded by institutions such as Sasakawa Foundation, the Japan Foundation, Birkbeck Research Committee Strategic Funds, BIMI (Birkbeck Institute for Moving Images) and The Open City Documentary Film Festival London. Previously, his project Japanese Transnational Cinema (2018/19) was funded by the Sasakawa and Daiwa foundations, Waseda University and Monbusho (Ministry of Education of Japan). After studying Ainu language and culture in Japan, his research on the visual representation of the Ainu people was awarded by the former Kokoro journal for Japanese Studies, and his full-length documentary, Ainu. Pathways to Memory (2014), directed after having worked as a television director, was translated into several languages and received several prize from international film festivals and other institutions (such as the National Museum of Anthropology, CSIC and the Government of the Basque Country). During his doctoral studies, he was a research fellow at the University of Valencia (2009-2013) and an associate researcher at the International Institute for Education and Research in Theater and Film Arts at Waseda University, Tokyo (2010-2013). Other activities Among his professional activities, Centeno is currently a board member for the AEJE (Asociacion de Estudios Japoneses en España), and external examiner for the Japanese Studies degree programmes at Oxford Brookes University (2021-2025), editorial board member for Mirai. Revista Estudios Japoneses, has been jury member for ICAS/SEPHIS prize for the best books on Asian Studies written in Spanish and Portuguese, Ivan Morris Memorial Prize on Japanese Studies (awarded by the British Association for Japanese Studies), DAAD. German Academic Exchange Service (research fellowship applications), convenor for EAJS (the European Association for Japanese Studies) Visual Arts section (2019-2023), board member for BIMI (Birkbeck Institute of the Moving Image), the Japan Research Center, SOAS. On culture, memory and representation in museums, Centneo has coordinated the Memorial Sites research seminar at Birkbeck Memorial Sites. Acts of Remember through Media and Visual Culture (2022/2023) and is a member of the Repercri group and on transnational cultural circulation he works with Gregal group at the UAB. Also, Centeno has served as a guest lecturer for Summer Schools at Pittsburgh University, Ochanomizu University, guest lecturer for the Centre for Japanese Studies at Nanzan University, Nagoya (1st semester 2021/22), and invited to deliver around 60 talks at universities from Latin America, Europe and Japan. Maricel Esteban-Fonollosa es Doctora en Lenguas, Literaturas, Culturas y sus aplicaciones por la Universidad de Valencia. Licenciada en Filología Alemana por la Universidad de Valencia, en Ciencias de la Información por el C.E.U. San Pablo, centro adscrito a la Universidad Politécnica de Valencia, y graduada en el Grado de Estudios Hispánicos de la Universitat de València. Desde 2022 es profesora ayudante doctora en el Departament de Filologia Anglesa i Alemanya de la Universitat de València, desde 2024 está acreditada como profesora Contratada Doctora por la ANECA. Su investigación se centra en el ámbito de la lingüística contrastiva, el análisis del discurso y la lingüística aplicada, especialmente a la enseñanza del alemán como lengua extranjera. Pertenece al Grupo de Investigación FRASESPAL – Fraseología Español-Alemán (https://frasespal.com/) y trabaja actualmente en el Proyecto del Ministerio de Ciencia e Innovación PID2019-108783RB-I00 Gramática de Construcciones y Fraseología. Las construcciones fraseológicas del alemán y el español en contraste a través de los corpus (https://constridioms.es/), dirigido por Carmen Mellado Blanco de la Universidade de Santiago de Compostela. Además forma parte del equipo de trabajo de la Universitat de València del Lab Diversity and Migration, puesto en marcha en el marco del proyecto de universidad europea FORTHEM (septiembre 2019 - agosto 2022). Since obtaining my doctorate in 1994, I have been occupied with different topics of general linguistics in the postdoctoral period until I began, after my stay at the University of Heidelberg in 1992 with a grant from the Alexader von Humboldt Foundation, a thematic reorientation in the field of translatology and contrastive linguistics (Aspects of Linguistic Contrast and Translation. The Natural Perspective, Frankfurt, Peter Lang, 1994), with a special focus on intercultural pragmatics (Culturas y Acción Comunicativa. Introducción a la Pragmática Intercultural, Barcelona, Octaedro, 1999). This stage lasted throughout the 1990s until the beginning of the new century, when, without abandoning previous lines of research, such as pragmatics and intercultural communication, I focused my interest on the field of clinical linguistics. Research in this field has centered on the characterization of the linguistic deficit in aphasia, taking into account data from conversational interactions involving subjects with aphasia. In the monograph Inhibición y Lenguaje, A Propósito de la Afasia y la Experiencia del Decir, Madrid, Biblioteca Nueva, 2006, the theoretical bases of my research in clinical linguistics are established. During this period I have been principal investigator of 5 research projects and one special action with ministerial funding, and one research project with regional funding.

Dr. Juan José Martínez Sierra is a Full Professor in the Department of English and German Studies at the Universitat de València. Within this department, he instructs courses on Written and Audiovisual Translation, Intercultural Communication, and English Language at both undergraduate and graduate levels. He earned his doctorate in Translation Studies from Universitat Jaume I in 2004, complemented by a degree in English Language and Culture from UJI in 1995, as well as an MA in Intercultural Communication from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County, USA, in 2001. His primary area of expertise lies in Audiovisual Translation, which comprises a significant portion of both his teaching curriculum and research endeavors. His research predominantly revolves around the study of audiovisual translation from an intercultural standpoint. This pursuit has yielded a prolific array of engagements, including lectures, seminars, invited talks, and presentations at national and international conferences. Dr. Martínez Sierra boasts an extensive publication record, encompassing over 100 works, such as books, book chapters, reviews, and numerous articles in esteemed scientific journals. He serves as the coordinator for CiTrans and collaborates actively with the research groups SILVA (Universitat de València) and TRAMA (UJI). |

Evelio Miñano Martínez is a Professor of French Philology in the Department of French and Italian Philology at the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication of the University of Valencia. He was graduated from this University in Romance Philology (French) in 1984, with the degree thesis L'image dans la poésie de Philippe Jaccottet and in 1987 with the Ph thesis Imagen y experiencia de la realidad en la poesía de Yves Bonnefoy, both works directed by his teacher, Dr. Elena Real Ramos. After working as a lecturer in Spanish language at the Université de Pau et des Pays de l'Adour in 1984-1985, he has pursued his professional career at the University of Valencia until today. He has carried out various teaching tasks in the field of French Philology, within the different undergraduate and graduate syllabuses which have been developed since he joined the Universitat de València in 1985: French language, history of the French language, commentary on literary texts, French literature of different genres and periods, etc. He has also taught on doctoral courses and, later, on master's degrees at the Universitat de València. He currently teaches on the Master's Degree in Humanistic and Creative Translation (French-Spanish section) and the Master's Degree in Research in Languages and Literatures. He has also taught on the Master's Degree in Comparative Literature and Cultural Criticism (online degree of the University of Valencia). He has developed several lines of research, in connection with the subjects he has taught. His first research work, as part of his doctoral thesis, focused on contemporary French poetry, with some incursions into other periods. He has published articles and book chapters on the poetry of Philippe Jaccottet, Yves Bonnefoy, Marguerite Yourcenar, Lorand Gaspar, Jean Cocteau, Salah Stétié, Anise Koltz, Eugène Guillevic, Pierre Pascal, Jean Claude Renard, Édouard Glissant, Pierro Oster, Fancis Ponge, Max Jacob, Jude Stéfan, André Salmon and Jean-Michel Maulpoix. His studies on Medieval literature have focused on the Cent nouvelles nouvelles, the Roman de Renart, Jean Bodel, Charles d'Orléans, Jean Froissart, Le roman de Jehan de Paris and Christine de Pisan. He has also researched authors from different periods and genres in the field of Spanish-French comparative studies: Voltaire (La Henriade), Théophile Gautier, Jorge Semprún and Louise Doutreligne. Many of his publications are listed in ORCID (https://orcid.org/0000-0003-1177-1567), Dialnet (https://dialnet.unirioja.es) and are also accessible in the RODERIC repository of the Universitat de València (http://roderic.uv.es/pers/G5178.html). For some years now, while taking subjects on the Master's Degree in Humanistic and Creative Translation, she has been translating French literary texts into Spanish, most of them never translated into Spanish before, from different periods and genres. His first translations have focused on French-language poetry from the 17th, 19th, 20th and 19th centuries: Salah Stétié, Alfred de Musset, Anise Koltz, Jean-Michel Maulpoix, Théophile Gautier and Théophile de Viau. In connection with his teaching and research on Medieval French literature, she has translated two works by Christine de Pisan (Cien Baladas de Amante y Dama, Palma: La lucerna 2011), and El libro del duque de los verdaderos amantes, Universidad de Murcia, 2014). A few years ago he opened a new line of research on contemporary French theatre with studies, prologues and translations of Louise Doutreligne (Tocada y lanzada, Universitat de València, 2008, and Teresada', Universitat de València, 2017; etc. ), and by the Romanian-French author Matei Visniec (La palabra progreso en boca de mi madre sonaba tremendamente falsa, Universitat de València, 2013; Migraaaantes..., Universitat de València, Academia de los nocturnos, 2017, etc.). This author is the origin of his recent interest in the Romanian language, which has culminated, till the date, with the co-translation, together with Angelica Lambru, of two works by Matei Visniec written in Romanian (En la mesa con Marx, La Garúa LIbros, 2017) and El bolsillo del pan, Caballos en la ventana and La araña en la herida, Universitat de València, 2021). As part of the international research project EMOTHE (Spanish and European theatre of the 16th and 17th centuries: heritage and databases) he has translated Los amores trágicos de Píramo y Tisbe of Théophile de Viau (Universitat de València 2018), co-translated Eugenio of Jodelle, with Silvia Hueso (Universitat de València, 2021) and Las galanterías del Duque de Osuna of Mairet (Universitat de València, in press). Finally, he has translated for the first time a novel: Oshima, by the author Serge Lamothe from Quebec (Verbum 2022). These translations, almost always preceded by introductory studies, have been accompanied by two short essays in which he has reflected on his own work: "Entusiasmos y angustias de un traductor vocacional", Eu-topias, V, 2013; "La traducción poética desde la experiencia de un traductor", in Martínez-Paricio, Violeta; Pruñonosa-Tomás, Manuel eds, Intercomprensión románica, Linx, 2017. Most of this research and translations have been carried out within the framework of research projects in which he has participated over the years: La problemática de la seducción en la literatura francesa (PS91-0139), Dirección General de Investigación Científica y Técnica del MEC; Espacios extranjeros y exóticos del amor en la literatura francesa (BFF2002-02260, I+D project, Plan Nacional de Investigación Científica, Desarrollo e Innovación Tecnológica; Mujeres escritoras en la literatura contemporánea francesa: claves de su emergencia y diersidad 1970-2005), (HUM2006-08785/FILO), Dirección General de Investigación, Subdirección General de Proyectos de Investigación. He is currently part of the international research projects REMELICE, Réception et Médiations de Littératures et de Cultures Étrangères Comparées, Université d'Orléans, France (EA-4709) and EMOTHE, European Theatre of the 16th and 17th centuries: heritage and databases,Ministerio de Economía y Comptetitivad (FFI2016-80314-P). Within the framework of the former, he researches on Jorge Semprún and Matei Visniec; within the framework of the second one, he studies, edits and translates classical French plays. Likewise, in the field of knowledge transfer, he has been advising the performance company Influenscènes Association since February 2017, through an agreement between this company and the Universitat de València. He has held several positions of academic responsibility in the Faculty of Philology, Translation and Communication of the University of Valencia: Secretary and Vice-Dean of the Faculty, Secretary and Director of the Department of French and Italian Philology of the same centre. During his time as Vice-Dean, he was in charge of the academic organization of the Faculty, as well as external internships, and he also participated in the commissions for the reform of the syllabus and self-evaluation of the centre. He has also been Coordinator of the Degree in Modern Languages and their Literatures and Co-Director of the Master's Degree in Research in Languages and Literatures at the University of Valencia. Dina Pedro holds a B.A. in English Studies, an M.A. in Secondary Education Teacher, an M.A. in Advanced English Studies (MAES) and a PhD in Literature and Culture from the University of Valencia (UV). Between 2018 and 2023 she was a funded PhD candidate (FPU grant awarded by the Spanish Ministry of Universities) at the Department of English and German at UV. In 2023 she worked as an Substitute Lecturer at the University of Córdoba (Spain). Since September 2023 she works as an Assistant Professor in the Department of English and German at UV. She is a member of the research group LAP (Ref.: GIUV 2017-354) and the research project "Re-orienting Assemblage Theory in Anglophone Literature and Culture" (RELY), funded by the Spanish Ministry of Science and Innovation (Ref. PID2022-137881NB-I00). She is also on the editorial board of the journal REDEN and participates as an events assistant in the PopMec association. |

Associate Professor in the Department of English and German (ORCID ID: https://orcid.org/0000-0001-5014-0456). Degree in English (1999) & French (2002, Universitat de València); Master of Arts in Translation Studies (2000, University of Sheffield); PhD (2008). Her research focuses on the field of feminist translation, translation and censorship and the translation and reception of 20th century English women novelists in Spain. Head of Initiatives of the Vice-Rectorate for Culture and Society.
