New Publication in Polymers on the Development and Characterization of PVDF Membranes Using Green Solvents and the Incorporation of DES.
From the research line Development of Membranes for Environmental Technologies within the MATS group (Materials Technology and Sustainability) at the Universitat de València, we are pleased to announce the publication of a new research article in the scientific journal Polymers (MDPI).
The study, titled “Effect of Choline Chloride-Based DES on the Pore-Forming Ability and Properties of PVDF Membranes Prepared with Triethyl Phosphate as Green Solvent”, presents an extensive characterization of PVDF polymer membranes prepared using green solvents and incorporating choline chloride-based Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES), analyzing their effect on pore formation and the final membrane properties.
This work contributes to the advancement of sustainable and functional materials design for environmental management, in alignment with the principles of the circular economy and the development of clean technologies.
The study was carried out within the framework of the research projects CarbonBrane and MethBrane, and marks the first publication derived from the PhD thesis of Alejandro Gálvez, a doctoral student in the Chemical, Environmental and Process Engineering program at the Universitat de València.
