Spain has implemented the Microchips and Semiconductors Strategic Project, known as Perte Chip ('Perte Xip'), in order to develop all the industry value chain from existing strengths.
It is articulated around 4 axes, from national strengths, in order to reinforce the microchip design and production capacities in Spain. It consists of a national plan funded by Next Generation EU.
Through the State Secretariat for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructure, the Ministry for Digital Transformation and Public Service has published the final motion for a resolution of the call for aid ‘Chairs Chip’ within the framework of PERTE Chip.
The programme grants a 45 million financial support to 17 initiative in which 80 companies participate, individually or by consortium, for the establishment of chairs university-company in the area of microchips and semiconductors.
The PERTE Chip will transform the semiconductor industry in our country, driving the ecosystem transversally and developing new capacities that will place us as a relevant actor in a global market.
