At PTinMotionUV, we are mindful of the university’s social commitment. Therefore, all our lines of research are carried out with professional ethics, rigour and respect for the users on a social and cultural level, as well as taking gender perspective into account. Our goal is to expand and improve scientific knowledge, and to make it easily accessible for different health facilities and private physiotherapy practices, thus turning physiotherapy into a key means to improve people’s quality of life.
The research group particularly focuses on the study of the effectiveness of techniques and interventions of physiotherapy on cardiovascular and respiratory diseases; neurological and childhood diseases; as well as musculoskeletal pathologies – such as chronic pain and those of haemophilic origin – and other coagulopathies. In addition, it also incorporates the perspective of prevention and promotion of health through physical therapy. Furthermore, the research group also conducts validation and reliability studies of clinical assessment tools and equipment.
