Taxes are the main source of financing for public administrations. But in addition to purely tax collection, they fulfil other extremely important objectives. These range from modifying citizens' behaviour to improving the redistribution of income and wealth. The Autonomous Communities currently manage a very relevant part of these resources, which is why their study is so significant.

The Autonomous Community Funding Chair was created as a meeting place for all people and institutions interested in Taxation, both from a theoretical and quantitative point of view. But it also feeds on contributions from Public Economics and Public Policy Evaluation.

All this within a framework of collaboration with the Conselleria d'Hisenda i Model Econòmic (Regional Ministry of Finance and Economic Model), in order to achieve a fairer, more efficient and more effective tax system.
