
The OAO (Observatory of Aras de los Olmos – Universidad de Valencia) is the monitoring station owned by Astronomical Observatory of Universidad de Valencia. It’s situated at municipality of Aras de los Olmos, on the grindstone of Santa Catalina.
Astronomic monitoring station placed on the geographical coordinates: 39º 56’ 42.00” N y 1º 6’ 5.40” W, altitude 1280 m.
Sky’s darkness: 22 mag/arcsec2 at the zenith.
Equipped with telescopes with aperture diameter: 60 cm, 51 cm, 40 cm, 30 cm y 14 cm.
Spectrometer and filter sets: Johnson, SDSS, Stromgren, RGBL, Hα y OIII.
Photometry: measuring of the intensity of light radiated by celestial bodies and its variation over time (light curve).
Astrometry: measurements of the positions of celestial bodies.
Spectroscopy: descomposition of the light of celestial bodies and the study of its spectrum.
The use of the facilities shall be done by the support astronomers, who will be in charge of conducting the requested observations.
