The TROBAR telescope (Aras Robotic Telescope) is a 60 cm aperture reflector with a Robotic German Equatorial mount that can autonomously perform the observations programmed for it. It is located at the Aras de los Olmos Observatory.
60 cm aperture telescope with Ritchey-Chretien optics and Cassegrain focus.
Robotic German Equatorial mount, synchronised with the dome.
CCD data acquisition camera and autoguiding camera.
Spectroscope. The telescope can also be fitted with a filter wheel, but due to its large aperture it is mainly favoured for spectroscopic use.
Spectroscopy: descomposition of the light of celestial bodies and the study of its spectrum.
The facilities will be used by the support astronomers, who will be in charge of conducting the requested observations.
