Miltenyi Biotec, autoMACS Pro
Magnetic Cell Separator
Brand: Miltenyi Biotec, autoMACS Pro
Type: Equipment

Automated cell separation systems based on magnetic separation technology (MACS). It is designed to isolate specific cells in a quick, efficient and reproducible manner from complex samples such as blood, bone marrow or fragmented tissue. It uses detachable magnetic columns and specific reagents to carry out positive or negative cell separations, minimising manual manipulation.

Description

Technology based on magnetic microspheres (MicroBeads) for cell separation through positive or negative selection. Processing of volumetric samples from 0.2 Ml to 50 Ml, including whole blood, bone marrow, PBMCs, dissociated tissue or cultured cells. It can manage up to hasta 4 × 10⁹ whole cells per sample and up to 2 × 108 marked cells per sample, with classification efficiency over 10 million cells per second.

Full automation that controls incubation, separation in columns, washing and positive/negative fractioning. It offers at least 10 or 12 pre-established programmes (depending on the model or version), specific to each kind of Microbeads and isolation protocol, guaranteeing reproducible and standardised results.

Integrated sensors that continuously monitor the system’s state, ink pads levels, columns and racks to ensure a proper functioning and protection of the samples and operators.

Practical implementation

Cell isolation in the preparation of primary cultures.

Enriching cell populations and samples preparation (pre-sorting).

Compatible with subsequent analyses such as flow cytometry, functional trials, cell culturing o molecular extraction.

Quality certifications

ISO 9001:2015 certification

Yearly revision by a specialised company

Terms of use

Receiving approval from the UV’s Biocommittee and being an authorised user of the Cell Culture and Flow Cytometry Service. As such, you must be informed about the project, the collaborators involved, how to use biological agents and be aware of the work rules. To be an independent user, it is necessary to have been previously trained by the section’s technicians.
