Training is one of the strategic pillars of the ESPACIOS Chair. Through courses, seminars, workshops and practical activities, the Chair promotes capacity building among students, researchers, cultural professionals and public officials involved in the planning and management of cultural facilities.
These training activities combine academic excellence with practical application, encouraging the use of data, indicators and digital tools to support evidence-based cultural policymaking.

Data & Culture Hackathon
One of the Chair's flagship training initiatives is the Data & Culture Hackathon: analytical challenges for cultural facilities, an activity designed to foster innovation and collaborative learning through the use of cultural data.
The Hackathon brings together students, researchers, professionals and experts from different disciplines to develop innovative solutions linked to the Territorial Plan for Cultural Facilities (PITEC).
The challenges addressed include:
- Semi-automated identification of public impacts generated by cultural facilities.
- Validation, cleaning and prioritisation of records within the PITEC database.
- Development of intelligent cultural recommendation systems.
- Advanced cultural intelligence applications for citizens and public administrations.
In addition to the Hackathon, the Chair organises specialised seminars and knowledge-transfer activities aimed at promoting the use of data and scientific evidence in cultural policymaking and cultural facility management.
