Dr Zingales has received the ESTIV Early Career Award

Dr Veronica Zingales has won the Early Career Award from the European Society for In Vitro Toxicology (ESTIV)

Dr Veronica Zingales, a postdoctoral researcher in the RiskTox group, has won the Early Career Award from the European Society for In Vitro Toxicology (ESTIV) for her in vitro research into natural contaminants in food and their impact on human health.

The award was presented during the 22nd ESTIV International Congress in Prague from 3 to 6 June 2024. Dr Helena Kandárová, President of ESTIV, and Dr Clive Roper, Chair of the Scientific Committee of the ESTIV 2024 Congress, announced and presented the award.

Following the ceremony, Dr Zingales delivered a lecture titled ‘From toxicological three-dimensional models and microfluidics: the impact of the culture system on the toxicological evaluation of food contaminants’.

The congress was also attended by Dr María José Ruiz, director of the RiskTox research group, as well as PhD students Mercedes Taroncher and Raquel Penalva from the same group.
