PhD student Mercedes Taroncher has received the 2024 Motivem Science Award.

PhD student Mercedes Taroncher Ruiz and Professor Yelko Rodríguez-Carrasco of the RiskTox group have won the Motivem Science Award for their‘Nutriest’ idea.

MOTIVEM is an innovative programme organised by the University of València through its ADEIT Foundation and overseen by the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation and Transfer. It is sponsored by the Valencian Regional Government and the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation, via CaixaBank.

This edition received 167 business ideas involving 700 students and 151 teachers from the University of Valencia.

'Nutriest' won the Science category. It was coordinated by Professor Sergio López Ureña from the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences. The project aims to facilitate diet design using various algorithms.

The team includes students from the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences (Luis Carrillo Hernández, Tonio Janek Kowalke and Jeri and Luca Tanganelli Castrillón) and the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences, David Medina Mompó, Mercedes Taroncher Ruiz and Yelko Rodríguez-Carrasco, with the latter two being part of the RiskTox group.
