
PhD student and RiskTox group researcher Mercedes Taroncher Ruiz has won the Motivem Science Award for her ‘Nutriest’ idea.
MOTIVEM is an innovative programme organised by the University of Valencia through its ADEIT Foundation, under the direction of the Vice-Rectorate for Innovation and Transfer. The programme is sponsored by the Valencian Regional Government and the ‘la Caixa’ Foundation, through CaixaBank.
This edition received a total of 167 business ideas, involving 700 students and 151 teachers from the University of Valencia.
‘Nutriest’ was awarded in the Science category. It was coordinated by Professor Sergio López Ureña from the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences. The idea aims to facilitate diet design through various algorithms.
The team includes students from the Faculty of Mathematical Sciences (Luis Carrillo Hernández, Tonio Janek Kowalke, Jeri and Luca Tanganelli Castrillón), as well as students from the Faculty of Pharmacy and Food Sciences (David Medina Mompó and Mercedes Taroncher Ruiz), and a PhD student from the RiskTox group (Luca Tanganelli Castrillón).
