
The aim of this study is to evaluate the improvement of shoulder pain and functionality in people with subacromial pain syndrome.
What does the intervention consist of?
- The sessions are composed of the application of electrical stimulation and therapeutic exercise. Electrical stimulation is a method that has been used successfully in the clinic to improve non-specific chronic pain, low back pain, fibromyalgia, stroke, osteoarthritis and postoperative pain.
- The sessions are supervised by a physiotherapist.
- The duration of the intervention programme is 8 weeks and will be carried out 3 days per week (1 hour per session).
- In addition, there will be three evaluations (before, after and 12 weeks after treatment) to monitor the effects (1 hour).
- Registration is free of charge.
Who can participate?
- Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be between 18 and 65 years old.
- Be diagnosed with subacromial syndrome.
- Have pain in one shoulder for more than 3 months.
