Algemesí Solidario is a non-profit organization that has been in direct contact with the population of Baasneere (Burkina Faso) since 2010. Since that year, actions have taken place in this population, such as the construction of a well, the restoration of the maternity hospital, a collection campaign medication and summer activities with children, among others. But one of the most serious deficiencies was the construction of a secondary school. Given the precarious economic situation of Burkina Faso, the state cannot afford to build educational centers, always subject to the capital that an non-profit or any public or private institution can provide. And in a radius of 30 km there is no possible access.

In 2016, the construction of the school began in Baasneere, and specifically the first of its construction phases. A change in the legislation on education in Burkina Faso, which introduced an intermediate phase between Primary and Secondary education, made it necessary to modify the construction project, since a new classroom had to be added to the first module. It must be taken into account that the construction system that was chosen is based on the value of vernacular architecture, totally sustainable to use materials typical of the terrain, that is, the compressed earth block. For this reason, research has been carried out in Valencia and Algemesí to test the systems for creating walls and vaults with materials from the area, which were collected. Several courses have been carried out with young architecture students. And, finally, a course has been held in Algemesí (summer 2016) with young people in situations of exclusion. Once the construction was completed, the classrooms were equipped with furniture and all the necessary equipment.
