The Astronomy Classroom is a teaching laboratory of the Department of Astronomy and Astrophysics, where the practices of the Astronomy subjects are taught. The purpose is to bring the student directly closer to the wonders of the sky using the usual techniques and methods in this discipline. It consists of two facilities: the teaching classroom with networked computers, where the images obtained or complementary practices can be processed, the observation station with the 5-meter dome where there is an apochromatic telescope with an 18 cm opening, the 2.5-meter dome with a Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope, a 3-meter diameter radio antenna that operates at a wave length of 21 cm, and a vertical solar telescope. In addition, it has other telescopes for night observation, and complementary instrumentation.
