The Desertification Research Center (CIDE) participated last Saturday, May 18, in the celebration of the Fascination of Plants Day promoted by the European Plant Science Organization (EPSO) and the Global Plant Council.
The Desertification Research Center (CIDE) participated last Saturday, May 18, in the celebration of the Fascination of Plants Day promoted by the European Plant Science Organization (EPSO) and the Global Plant Council.
The CIDE, together with numerous entities and associations, participated in the Doors Open Day, held at the Botanical Garden of the Universitat de València, and whose main objective was to highlight the essential role of plants in our lives, through the numerous activities aimed to address all audiences. This Day joined the 83 activities that were organized throughout Spain under the coordination of the Institutional Delegation of the CSIC in the Valencian Community. Over 800 events across 51 countries.
Patricio García-Fayos, Director of CIDE, explained that "this initiative is an excellent opportunity to bring plant research closer to society". Specifically, and through the LIFE The GreenLink Project, the CIDE researchers explained to the numerous visitors how green infrastructures can contribute to revitalize desertified areas along the Mediterranean basin.
