Services
SAS-CIDE offers the determination of:
• Total carbon (C total), total nitrogen (N total) and total sulphur (S total) in solid samples of soil and plant material.
The analysis is carried out using the Dumas method (complete combustion at between 1100 °C and 1450 °C in the presence of oxygen). To this end, the service utilises a LECO CNS928 elemental analyser, which features independent detectors for each of the three elements to be measured (C, S and N), thereby avoiding matrix effects. The detectors are non-dispersive Infrared Absorption (IR) for Carbon and Sulphur and Thermal Conductivity (TCD) for Nitrogen.
Sample requirements: Minimum quantity: 0.5 grams. The sample must be sent dry and pulverised. If a sample is not available in these conditions, a grinding service can be requested (please enquire about price and minimum quantity required).
The terms of service, cost and delivery time depend on the type and number of analyses to be carried out.
