The socio-economic importance of the food sector, together with the great changes occurred in the field of food regarding dietary guidelines, prevention of chronic diseases, new foods, growing interest of certain nutrients, new processing technologies, new packaging materials and food biotechnology, give rise to the need for competent researchers in these activities.

The programme is aimed at training technicians and researchers in the field of food sciences in order to provide a response to the increasing demand of consumer associations, government administrations and food industry.
