1) Detail of the complementary training depending on the several entry profiles. Information on the content, learning results, training activities and assessment systems, etc.

1.1)Profiles in which the complementary training are applied.

There are two entry profiles in our doctoral programme depending on the student’s prior training, that are relevant for the establishment of the complementary training:

· Doctoral Students who have taken the required training in the master’s degrees related to the doctoral programme
· Doctoral students who have not taken these programmes but other less directly related to the topics or research methodologies in Psychology of Work, Organisations or Human resources.

Bridging courses described below are applied to profile b above mentioned. Ensuring adequate basic training to develop research activity that requires the programme is why such supplements are established. Therefore, these supplements correspond to the credits that the Master’s degrees related to the programme are dedicated to conducting research, because these training activities provide a systematic and structured learning that is based on the development of a research paper on a issue of the discipline.

1.2) Contents of the bridging courses.

a) Research and analysis in Psychology of Work, Organisations and Human Resources (4 ECTS). Workshop in multivariate methodology to be used in own research or that of colleagues who are conducting similar work. Thus the student practice the more frequent multivariate statistical tests in research in Psychology of HR: exploratory and  confirmatory factor analysis, multiple regression analysis and structural equation modelling.
b) Students will perform the first two phases of the three that form the development of the master's thesis, taking a workload of 20 ECTS. This block is focused on the development of knowledge and skills that underlie research in Psychology of Work, Organisations and Human Resources.

1.3) Training activities of the bridging courses.

The activities that students must perform enable them to implement core competencies in conducting a research: review of the scientific literature, formulation of a research question and hypotheses, study design, determination of all relevant methodological aspects (subjects and selection procedures, identifying instruments for data collection, procedures
for data collection, development of databases and statistical analysis and interpretation of results), the development and drafting of the work, presenting it to a panel of professors of the programme and obtaining feedback and response to issues raised.

Furthermore, through the methodology course the student practices suitable types of analysis to the research questions and the interpretation of results.

1.4) Learning results and Assessment systems.

Students present three results:

a. Research report. Students develop a research whose main objective is to practice the conduct and analysis of the statistical procedures studied. For this purpose they carry out a brief literature review on a specific topic recommended by their methodological tutor. They set the research issue and from there develop more extensively the section on methodology and results.
b. Position Paper or scientific work’s draft. Students, according to their director of research, will choose a research topic, write a manuscript and discuss it. It is a document that a comprehensive review of the subject and a research proposal is structured. They will receive feedback, comments and suggestions for improvement from professors and other students (6 ECTS).
c. Research Work. Developing the research project and conducting a first version of the thesis (14 ECTS) that they will defend publicly before a committee of three experts. These experts will make suggestions and comments to improve the development of what would later constitute the doctoral thesis.
