External academic practices constitute of natural educational activities, carried out by students under a guidance and supervision of two tutors: representing both the receiving organization and the University of Valencia.

The main aim of external practices is to enable students the application and completion of their knowledge, acquired beforehand during the academic training, in addition to: promoting simultaneous acquisition of skills that prepare them for future professional activities, facilitating employability and fostering entrepreneurial capacity.

External practices are to be performed in collaboration with entities, such as: companies, offices and other institutions - both public and private ones, on the national and international level. Practices can be performed at the home University as well.

External practices can be both curricular and extracurricular:

  • Curricular practices are included in the academic curriculum and correspond to a specific module or field of the course,
  • Extracurricular practices are performed by students on a voluntary basis during their training period. Despite having the same purposes as the above mentioned curricular practices, they are not an obligatory part of the relevant studies plan.
