Duration:
One three-hour lab session per student group.
Maximum number of students:
The maximum number of students per group in the Aula Experimenta is 16 . Practical experiments are carried out in pairs. All students can perform the same experiment simultaneously and have the same experimental device.
Objectives of the sessions:
- To develop a coordinated work between secondary education and university teachers, jointly planning the acquisition of scientific and experimental competences adapted to the students' levels, with personalized attention and UDL approach.
- Motivate high school students towards experimental work, carrying out experiences that contribute to improve their understanding of fundamental concepts through the observation and measurement of phenomena and discussion of results in relation to what has been addressed in class.
Program of the experimental session:
- First part: introductory explanation, carried out by the faculty teaching staff and completed with references to applications, games and simple experimental demonstrations or historical contextualization that help to perceive the importance of these phenomena in a multitude of everyday situations or technological applications.
- Second part: the students carry out the practicals in pairs and under the joint supervision of secondary school and university teachers, following a simplified script that allows them to understand the phenomena and the predictive power of physical models.
The scripts are adapted to the level of the students and often start with a more qualitative part that allows them to observe and better understand the phenomena, followed by parts more focused on measurement and quantitative analysis of the results. All the work can be done in the same session, although some parts can be completed back at the center.
The materials (scripts) of the practices are available in the virtual classroom of the UVEG, community “Ven a l'aula Experimenta”. If you do not remember your password click here
