Programa de internacionalización en casa: Próximas conferencias en inglés

Durante los meses de octubre a diciembre de 2022 se llevarán a cabo las siguientes conferencias en inglés dentro del Programa de Internacionalización a casa de la Facultad de Psicología y Logopedia. Todas son on-line excepto una que será presencial.


27 de octubre, 15:30-17:00 h. "Childhood masturbation. From diagnosis to intervention" (Justka Ratkowska-Pasikowska, Universidad de Lodz, Polonia). On-line.

  • Resum: Sexuality is a very important aspect of who we are and who we will be in the future. Therefore, it is important for future teachers, educators, psychologists to have knowledge in the field of sexual behaviour. The presentation will address the criteria for norms in behaviour, stages of diagnosis and intervention towards childhood masturbation.

9 de noviembre, 17:00-19:00 h. PRESENCIAL, Saló d'Actes. "The science of meditation" (Philippe Goldin, UC Davis, California).

  • Resum: The goal of this presentation is to examine the psychological and neural effects of mindfulness and compassion meditation practices on emotion regulation and self-views in healthy adults and adults with anxiety disorders.

28 de noviembre, 12:30-14:30 h. "Organized is better than smart: a guide to data arrangement and visualization" (Ana Baciero, Bournemouth University, UK). On-line.

  • Resum: In this session we will show you how to make simple and effective statistical graphs using the software environment R, which you can use in your works and assignments. 

29 de noviembre, 12:00-13:30 h. "How helpful is a specialist typeface for children with dyslexia?" (Daisy Powell, University of Reading, UK). On-line.

  • Resum: Children with dyslexia are at risk of poor academic attainment and lower life chances if they do not receive the support they need. This presentation will discuss the effects of using specialist dyslexia typefaces on students' reading skills.

12 de diciembre, 10:30-12:00 h. "Fostering reading comprehension: Acting on the text to support the reader" (Christian Tarchi, Universidad de Florencia, Italia). On-line.

  • Resum: In this class I will discuss a few examples of manipulation of the text that can facilitate (or hinder sometimes) students’ learning. I will discuss the need for other types of instructional support when the text manipulation does not work.
