Are you an UV newcomer? Do you have any doubts whom to address your questions? The Universitat de València offers first-year students and “incomings” the Entreiguals programme, mentoring between students. Entreiguals put new UV students in touch with classmates from higher courses, so that the latter can assist them in their incorporation to the Universitat de València.
Having a mentor helps to familiarise oneself with the university life and all UV offers in a short time. It also provides a better understanding of the teaching environment and a more easy access to it, so that first-year students can anticipate any problem and solve it more efficiently.
Among other things, having a mentor is useful for:
- Moving around the campus: classrooms, labs, libraries, professors’ offices, cafeterias, etc.
- Living in the city: a tutor provides information on accommodation and transport.
- Knowing aids and grants: what can be requested, when and where.
- Familiarising oneself with teaching resources: virtual classroom, tutorials, etc.
- Finding academic information: timetables, group changes, marks, etc.
- Accessing training activities of interest: language workshops, sports, supplementary training courses, cultural activities, volunteer work, etc.
