The Legal Guidance Service of the Universitat de València has assisted 122 degree and Master’s degree students between September 2023 and February 2024. This initiative has been running for three decades and is part of the UV Student Advice Service. It enables students to resolve legal and administrative queries free of charge.

The topics covered by the legal advice range from questions related to bureaucratic procedures to providing information on basic rights related to housing or work. During this first semester, 55.7% of the queries were related to administrative procedures such as nationality, residence, study and work permits; 12.3% were related to housing, rental contracts and the rights of tenants and landlords, and 9% were related to employment (conflicts, benefits, etc.). In addition, out of the 122 students assisted, more than 70% were women.

Legal Guidance is an initiative that aims to train students at the Universitat de València in skills related to the management and resolution of legal and bureaucratic issues that are difficult to achieve within the education system, but fundamental for the daily life of any citizen. Thanks to professional counselling and the fact that it is a free service, they help students' academic careers to develop in better conditions, as they help to deal with problems when they arise and allow them to be solved before they get worse.

UV Student Advice Services, which include legal and psychological guidance, are an initiative promoted by the Student Council Branch of the UV, managed through the Information and Promotion Service for Students (Sedi). To use this free service, an appointment must be booked using the form available on the Sedi website.
