The badminton selection of the Universitat de Valencia has an appointment on 26 and 28 April in Los Alcáceres (Murcia) with the best universities of the national geography, at the facilities of the Universidad Católica San Antonio de Murcia (UCAM) for playing the University Spanish Championship. The team of the University reaches the national championship with good feelings after a good performance in the autonomic the last February, in which they won two bronzes in the women’s and men’s individual competition thanks to David Siles and Bárbara Salines, who also competed in the mixed category and they won other bronze. In doubles, the couples; Santiago Jareño and Connor Owens and Cristina González and Paula Bernabéu also won the bronze in their corresponding categories. With these results, the team of the University faces the national competition “with great enthusiasm, as we thing that in two of the modalities we can won the medal” said Iván Gallardo, coach of the team -”In the Men single with David Siles and in mixed doubles with Bárbara Salinas and David Siles we can have a possibility of winning but all depends on the draw, as in the championship will play players who during the year are training in high performance centres, and almost certainly they will win all the first positions of all the categories. If we are lucky, our players may have options to win the medal. For the rest of the team, I hope they do a good job, as we have obtained a pair of bronzes in the regional championship, to repeat this in the national championship is a very difficult task.
