Vicerectorate of Strategy, Quality and Technologies of the information is promoting in the university community, a campaign directed to the awareness on the security of the information. Recent regulatory changes in data protection and security at the state level, make it necessary to create a corporate culture on information security.
Security of information is a responsibility of the entire university community. It is an asset, which must be protected between all and all. The implementation of the European Data Protection Regulation, the recent amendments and extensions of the Law on Data Protection and Digital Rights Guarantee, and the convergence with the National Security Scheme, obliges us by right, and by responsibility to carry out a series of informative and formative actions so that the information of which the Universitat de València is depositary is protected. Both the information in digital media, and the information in any type of support. The security of information has become a concern and obligation at the institutional level, and for this reason, some changes are being made in the management, for example, of the credentials of users of ICT services in the UV, and another series of actions in various areas to ensure the protection and traceable and secure processing of information. In the near future, the university community will receive notifications about these changes, how they affect us, and how to proceed to adapt to all of them. To this end, a monographic institutional web on information security has been created (www.uv.es/uvstic), where basic but very complete information security tips are provided, as well as links to notices and alerts of state security agencies, or current regulations both at the state level and internally within the University of Valencia. Informative meetings are being held with centers, services, foundations, institutes, where the lines of action are exposed in the medium term and it is informed in turn about the importance of information security, and how the University faces it. . The UV has a Security Committee, constituted in a transversal way by members of both the General Secretary, Vice-Rectorships, Delegations of the Rector, Servei d'informática, where everything related to the subject is managed and processed. In short, a series of information actions necessary to adapt our work environment and make it more secure in what affects the information we handle on a daily basis.
