The Marie Curie Auditorium of the Science Park of the Universitat de València (UVEG) will host the Conference on Digital Gender Equality on Tuesday, 13 October. It will focus on analysing the impact of Artificial Intelligence, considering its ethical and responsible dimension, with inclusive gender perspective, in the business sector of the Valencian Community.
The Chair for Digital Gender Gap –established through an agreement between the UVEG and the Generalitat Valenciana and funded by the Conselleria d’Indústria, Turisme, Innovació i Comerç– organises several sessions every year to analyse in detail the situations in which the digital gender gap emerges in the Valencian Community. This year, the 7th Conference on Digital Gender Gap will focus on reflecting on how Artificial Intelligence’s ethical and responsible dimension, as well as inclusive gender perspective, are being addressed in businesses of the Valencian Community. The conference aims to bring together experts and key agents, with the objective of sharing different perspectives and identifying good practices.
In this year’s edition, the 7th Conference for Digital Gender Equality will take place on Tuesday, 13 October, at 10:00am. It will be possible to follow the event at the Marie Curie Auditorium of the Science Park from the UVEG, or follow it on live via the Chair’s Youtube Channel –from 10:30 am. The session will begin with institutional presentations and the opening of the conference, with representatives from the UVEG and the Conselleria d’Industria, Turismo, Innovación y Comercio of the Generalitat Valenciana. Carmen Botella, director of the Chair for Digital Gender Gap, will present a summary of the results obtained during the 2025 year. .
Subsequently, we will have a lecture carried out by:
Lorena Fernández Álvarez, computer engineer, master’s degree in Information security and Expert programme in Ethics of Digitalisation and Applied Artificial Intelligence. Nowadays, director of digital communication at the University of Deusto and responsible of the Artificial Intelligence commission.
After the lecture, there will be a colloquium where the topic of “Ethical Artificial Intelligence and responsible in the Valencian business – an inclusive gender perspective” will be addressed, moderated by Kristin Suleng, from the Science Park Foundation of the UVEG, with the participation of Nuria Lloret, Carmen Montalba, Lorena Fernández and Esther Ferrer (To be confirmed).
This conference is part of the activities organised by the Chair for Digital Gender Gap (UV-GVA), established through an agreement between the Universitat de València and the Generalitat Valenciana, within the General Direction for Innovation and the Digital Gap Observatory, under the Conselleria d’Industria, Turismo, Innovación y Comercio. The conference is funded by this Conselleria.
