Actuaries Without Borders is a section of the International Actuarial Association.
ACTUARIES WITHOUT BORDERS (AWB®) is looking for volunteers to participate in a remote monitoring programme. In only 3 months this programme has received 16 applications of “actuary apprentices” from 8 different countries and 18 applications of mentors. AWB keeps incorporating more and more volunteers to develop this programme in more countries and cover the important demand for tutoring for preparing actuarial tests, for instance.
Summarizing, this remote monitoring programme gives benefits to the global society, such as providing with assistance for the development of actuarial training in those places where there are fewer resources, or its contribution to social recognition of the actuarial profession and the dissemination of actuarial training by encouraging qualified actuaries and academicians to contribute, voluntarily, without commercial or benefit purposes and all around the world, their abilities and professional knowledge.
The mentoring of a tutor will be assigned to each interested applicant according to their application process at the global level.
The interested applicants will obtain from their mentors guidance about the actuarial profession and training. Some mentors are to give mentoring support to those people preparing actuarial tests.
The application forms and other details are available at this website. If you are interested, send the application form to AWB-Met@actuaries.org. If you have any doubts, contact the Executive Director of AWB/ASF, Renata de Leers (awb-ed@actuaries.org), or the manager of this project by AWB/ASF, Bosco Chan (AWB-Met@actuaries.org).
