The Master’s Degree in Actuarial and Financial Sciences represents a transformation of the second cycle degree with the same name, taught by the Faculty of Economics of the University of Valencia since the academic year 1999-2000.
After the Bologna process, which represented the transformation of higher education studies in Undergraduate Degrees and Master’s Degrees, this studies were categorised as Master’s Degree due to the high level of specific knowledge required for satisfying the needs and demands of the implied businesses and sectors.
This option has been guaranteed by the Institute of Spanish Actuaries (IAE), after recognising that the Master’s Degree in Actuarial and Financial Sciences of the University of Valencia will prepare students for professional work as the former degree did it.
