The Consell opens deadline for the submission of new RTVV contents

Producers can present their proposals until next 31st May. The Consell reserves 15 millions euros in order to acquire programmes, both during this first stage as well as the following ones.

The reopening of RTVV hasn’t been set yet -Antonio Montiel, Podemos spokeperson in Les Corts, assures that the idea is to “not having a third anniversary” of the 29th November closure-, the Consell has announced the tender of contents for the new regional entity, which could have two radio stations and three TV channels (general, thematic and a kid’s channel). Technical conditions are not yet known, but soon the offer will be made official.

The deadline will be until 31st of May for those producers interested in presenting their programme proposals that will be part of this new TV. Once received these proposals, the High Level Consultative Council of Broadcasting, Television and Other Mass Media will evaluate them and will form a wide range of programmes chosen throughout the year. This way, contents will be bought according to the programming necessities. Classified ones will be made publish next Monday in the contracting party portal. The following day it will be made public in the Diario Oficial de la Comunidad Valenciana.

Contents:

  • TV series of 13 one hour (50 minutes) episodes;
  • Miniseries of 2, 4 or 6 episodes;
  • 25 or 50 minutes sitcoms;
  • Feature films and TV movies;
  • 50 minutes documentaries;
  • 25 or 30 minutes of cultural documentary series;
  • Cartoon series with different durations.

New RTVV will have two radio stations and three TV channels

The Consell establishes as a requirement for the programmes purchase; original programmes, it means that Canal 9 wouldn’t had broadcasted them before, and it has to be produced in the latest years. Moreover,  the following aspects will be taken into account:

  • Quality:”Educational, social and cultural programs developed in a ludic and entertaining way, with a value of respect and social cohesion, contributing to the creation of high regard models and the recovery of social self-esteem”;
  • Innovation: “Creative projects which allow technological innovation and the encouragement of talent, experimentation and creativity”;
  • Valencian culture and language: “Projects that disseminate aspects related to Valencian culture, history or society. Those projects that help to the normalisation of Valencian language and the encouragement of Valencian culture and language at an international and national level will be highly valued”;
  • Economy: “Those projects economically more advantageous, as well as part-funded projects and those which have a co-producer or sponsor will be highly valued”;
  • Recovery of the audiovisual sector in the Comunitat: “Acts and service contracts which encourage the recovery of the Comunitat Valenciana audiovisual sector will be highly valued”.

The Generalitat has confirmed that the new RTVV will have 15 million euros of budget in order to contract its programming, but not all the contents will be tendered by this process. It will also have a “singular projects” option”.
