The 50th edition of the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia has been scheduled: from 5 to 15 October. The fans of this contest that want to take part in the modality of the Virtual Reality - Cinema 360º can now enrol.

Sitges will host the new edition of the International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia where some of the most innovative productions of Virtual Reality will be displayed. If you want to take part in this modality, the registration period is now open. You have to bear in mind that the Festhome platform will be the only accepted system for uploading the enrolled piece.
The Festival’s awards are divided into seven categories: award for the best film, for the best direction, for the best actor and actress, for the best script, for the best photography, best especial effects and the best short film
What technical requirements do I have to take into account to register?
If you want to present your work to the festival, you can consult the registration terms, but you should know that your work must meet the following technical requirements:
For the video:
- MP4 Format
- 360-degree video of one of these types:
- Monoscopic standard 360
- Stereoscopic 360 Upper (left eye)/ Lower (Right eye) > Recommended
- Stereoscopic 360 Left / Right
- Minimum Resolution of 3840x2160
- Speed from 24 fps to 60 fps
- Codecs should be h.264 or h.265
For the audio:
- Stereo
- Binaural > Recommended
- Quadraphonic
After the submission of the works, a jury formed by international personalities will deliver the awards, which are divided into seven different categories: award for the best film, for the best direction, for the best actor and actress, for the best script, for the best photography, best especial effects and the best short film. Moreover, the audience prize for the best full-length film of the fantasy genre will also be awarded.
The International Fantastic Film Festival of Catalonia, which takes place on an annual basis, began in 1968. During the decades it has consolidated and has become a referent for all the cinema experts who are interested in presenting or learning about new trends and technologies applied to the audio-visual world.
