Professor Mauro Mediavilla presented a monograph in Madrid on the role of parents in the development of their children's reading skills

The professor of the Master's Degree in Economic Policy and Public Economics presented the study he has prepared together with Professor José García Clavel (University of Murcia). The aim of this study is to test whether young people whose parents are good readers develop greater reading comprehension skills.

On November 26th, the Ramón Areces and European Society and Education Foundations published the 14th issue of the collection "Monografías sobre educación", entitled "El papel de los padres en el desarrollo de la competencia lectora de sus hijos” [The role of parents in the development of their children's reading skills], authored by economics professors Mauro Mediavilla (Universitat de València) and José García Clavel (University of Murcia).

Mauro Mediavilla is a lecturer in the Department of Applied Economics at the Universitat de València, associate researcher at the Barcelona Institute of Economics (IEB) and member of the Research Group on Public Economic Evaluation (EVALPUB). He has been a consultant at the Institute for Higher Education in Latin America and the Caribbean (UNESCO), advisor in the Prometeo programme of the government of Ecuador and in the Spending Review project for Spain (Airef). He was part of the committee of experts for the review of scholarships in Spain that advised the Save the Children Foundation and collaborates on a permanent basis with the European Foundation Society and Education. He has more than 60 publications in indexed journals, books and book chapters.
