ADMISSION PROFILE
The Master’s Degree in Functional Recovery in Physiotherapy is aimed at graduates or diploma holders in Physiotherapy, as well as graduates in related fields. In accordance with Royal Decree 1393/2007, as amended by Royal Decree 861/2010, applicants must hold an official Spanish university degree or another issued by a higher education institution of the European Higher Education Area (EHEA) that qualifies them for admission to master’s studies in their home country. In addition, graduates from education systems outside the EHEA may be admitted without the need for homologation of their degree, provided that the University verifies that their level of knowledge is equivalent to that of official Spanish university degrees and that their studies allow access to postgraduate education in the country of origin. Admission through this pathway does not imply, in any case, the recognition or homologation of the previous degree for purposes other than access to this master’s programme.
Beyond the formal requirements, the recommended profile is that of professionals in physiotherapy who are interested in deepening their knowledge of functional recovery programs based on scientific evidence. Motivation to integrate knowledge from basic and applied sciences (such as anatomy, clinical biomechanics, exercise physiology, medical imaging, exercise planning, among others) and to transfer them into clinical practice in different phases of the recovery process is highly valued.
The ideal candidate is a person committed to improving patients’ quality of life, with critical analysis skills, a research-oriented mindset, and openness to scientific and technological innovation in physiotherapy. Likewise, applicants are expected to show interest in interdisciplinary teamwork and in developing competences that enable them to approach functional recovery in a comprehensive manner, both in preventive and therapeutic contexts.
